Looking at Pictures was a public event involving 14 photographers each choosing a single image — one they had not taken themselves — and performing a close reading of it. Celebrated photographers sat alongside students and emerging figures in the field. 

Held on the morning of July 4th 2026 at POST PRESS, the Architecture Foundation’s Summer programme space in Clerkenwell, the event was conceived as an exercise in sustained attention, which, in the words of Simone Weil, “taken to its highest degree, is the same thing as prayer.”
